BDW Insurance and its affiliates (“BDW Insurance,” “we” or “us”) have created this Privacy Policy in order to demonstrate our commitment to privacy. This Privacy Policy is hereby incorporated in our Terms of Use and by using Services (“Services” includes the access or use by you of applications, websites, content, product, services and programs made available by BDW Insurance, you accept the terms of this Privacy Policy. All capitalized terms not otherwise defined herein shall have the meanings given them in the Terms of Use. “You” and “Your” means the user of the Services. “Personal information” refers to information that can be used on its own or with other information to identify you. For example, personal information may include your full name, email address, phone number, street address, or social security number. Non-personal information includes information that does not identify you personally, like your gender or income.

Information We Collect

We collect information to provide better services to all of our users, and we collect that information in the following ways: Information you give us. We collect personal information from you when you register for an BDW Insurance account and apply for financial products and services through our Services. For example, when you register for an BDW Insurance account, we may ask you for your name, email address, phone number, or address. In your use of the Services, we may subsequently ask you for your date of birth, driver’s license number, your car’s VIN, employment, financial, family and housing information, credit card information, and other information. Information we collect from third parties. When you register for a BDW Insurance account and/or apply for the insurance products and services offered through the Services, you authorize us to collect information from third parties or service providers. The information we collect from third parties include, among other things, your personal information (e.g., personally identifiable information), information used for verification, any financial product related information, and any other information that may be reasonably needed to obtain financial product quotes (e.g., insurance quotes) and purchase financial product(s). We may receive information about you or other household members or drivers directly or indirectly from consumer reporting agencies, insurance support organizations, government agencies, independent reporting companies, or other data providers. This may include information about your full name, address, email address, date of birth, marital status, insurance-related information, driver’s license, car info, driving history, motor vehicle reports, current or prior insurance information, claim histories, credit score, social security number, credit-based insurance score, credit report information, occupation, education, income, gender, property ownership, financial liabilities, and/or other consumer reports and may further include any of the above-mentioned information for your family or household member(s) or other driver(s). In addition, if another company refers you to us, we may collect your information from that company in order to process your application for the insurance products and services offered through our Services. Information we collect based on your activity through our Services. In order to provide our services to you, improve our business and maintain records required by law, we collect information about your transactions and activities. For example, we collect information about your computer and your access to the Services, such as your IP address, geographical location, browser type, referral source, length of visit, button clicks, mouse movement and page views. In addition, we collect device-specific information such as hardware model, operating system version, unique device identifiers, and mobile network information including phone number. We and our marketing partners and service providers use technologies such as cookies, beacons, tags, and scripts, to track user sessions, analyze trends, administer our Services, and gather demographic information about our user base as a whole. We may receive reports on this activity on an individual and aggregated basis. You can control the use of cookies within your web browser. However, if you reject cookies, your ability to use some features or areas of our Services may be limited.

How We Use Information We Collect

We use the information we collect to provide, maintain, protect and improve our Services; to develop new products and services; and to protect our users and us. We may communicate with you by email, chat or phone with respect to your activities through the Services. We may also use your personal information to select you for certain marketing offers, newsletters, surveys and/or requests for feedback regarding your experience. We may use your personal information both to select you for an offer and to communicate that offer to you. Receipt of these communications is voluntary. If you do not wish to receive these communications please click on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such communications.

How We Share Your Information

We will not share your personal information with third parties without your consent. When you request to use Services offered by us, we may share the information we collect from and about you as described herein or at the time of collecting the information. In order to offer you the Services requested, we may share your personal information with third parties or service providers in the ways below. Any data obtained through our SMS messaging program will not be shared with any third parties for their marketing purposes.

Information that is necessary to provide you the products and services you request. We will share your information with insurance companies, reinsurance companies and their respective administrators, vendors, agents and third party service providers, including but not limited to insurance support organizations, that are engaged in services related to underwriting and issuing insurance policies as needed to provide you the insurance products and services you request. We will also share your information with third-party vendors, agents and other service providers that perform services on our behalf, as permitted by law and as needed to carry out their work for us, such as, billing, payments, servicing, web hosting or providing analytic services. We may share information such as your phone number or e-mail address with service providers who send texts or e-mails on our behalf. We may also share information with service providers that operate or analyze our online Services. We may share information with service providers that offer information about you or other household members, which we use in providing our Services. We may also share information with service providers that perform marketing or advertising services on our behalf. In addition, if you were referred to us by another company, we may share your information with that company as necessary to honor the terms of our agreement with that company and to provide you the financial products and services you request.

Affiliates. We may share information we collect from and about your with a parent, subsidiary, or affiliate entity within the BDW Insurance corporate family. Any organization to which we provide such information is required to keep your information confidential and to only use such information in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Partners. We may sometimes give you opportunities to interact with third party partners through our Services, such as when we provide you with the opportunity to review and send your personal information to a partner in order to pre-populate your application on the partner’s site or we send you to the partner’s site for you to provide the information directly to them. In some cases, if you click through to go to a partner’s site, you will automatically be sending your personal information to that partner. When this happens, any information you provide to the partner, whether through us or on your own, will be subject to their privacy practices and terms and conditions.

For legal reasons. We may share your information with companies, organizations or individuals as required by law or subpoena or if we reasonably believe that such action is necessary to (i) comply with, any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request; (ii) enforce our Terms, detect, prevent or address fraud, or to protect the security or integrity of our Services and the products and services offered through our Services; and/or (iii) exercise or protect the rights, property, or personal safety of our users, us or others.

In connection with our sale or other significant transaction. We may share your information with companies, organizations or individuals in connection with a significant transaction, such as a merger, sale of our assets or shares, reorganization, financing, change of control or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company or third party or in the event of a bankruptcy or related or similar proceedings.

Information that is no longer personally identifiable. We may also aggregate or otherwise strip data of all personally identifying characteristics and may share that aggregated, anonymized data with other companies, organizations or individuals.

Your Choices About Your Information

If you do not want to receive promotional emails from us, you may stop receiving such emails by clicking on the “unsubscribe link” provided in such emails. We make every effort to promptly process all unsubscribe requests. We will retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed for legitimate business or legal purposes. We may also reject requests related to updating or deleting information that risk the privacy of others, or would be extremely impractical. If you are a California resident, to the extent provided by law, you may request that we delete personal information that we collected from you. Your request must state (a) that you are making it pursuant to the CCPA; (b) the action you want us to take (make the disclosures above, delete personal information that we collected from you); and (c) your full name, mailing address, phone number, date of birth, and insurance company name, quote or policy number (if applicable). If you want us to disclose specific pieces of Personal Information that we collected about you or delete personal information that we collected from you, you also must include a copy of the front and back of your driver’s license or other government-issued identification card.

Information Security

We maintain commercially reasonable administrative, physical, and technical safeguards designed to prevent any unauthorized use, access, processing, destruction, loss, alteration, or disclosure of the data and information you provide us. In the event that any data or information under our control is compromised as a result of a breach of security, we will investigate the situation and where appropriate, notify those individuals whose information may have been compromised and take other steps, in accordance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect or solicit any information from anyone under the age of 13 or knowingly allow such persons to register for a BDW Insurance account. In the event that we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under age 13, we will delete that information as quickly as possible. Third-Party Practices

The BDW Insurance Services contains links to other Internet sites that are not maintained by us. Unless otherwise stated, we make no warranties or representations regarding these websites or the products or services offered on them. We do not control the privacy or security practices of third parties, or the locations where they process data. You should read the privacy and security policies of the other sites, as their practices may differ from ours.

Updates to Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time as our services change. If we update this Privacy Policy, we will post the updated Privacy Policy here. Unless otherwise noted, the revised Privacy Policy will take effect when it is posted. Once any changes become effective, your continued use of the BDW Insurance Services after such time will constitute your acceptance of the new terms.
